Mi-tunes

If you have time, you should definitely take a listen to:
Gold Dust Woman by Fleetwood Mac

I have been playing that song and rather the whole Rumors record on repeat.

Lullaby by The Cure

So there is one part of the song that goes “Spiderman is having me for dinner tonight.” I know that that’s not normal, but they’re still really good and this song is unbelievable. Especially the beginning part with the music fading in.

Ra Ra Riot- The main singer is from Syracuse, New York.

At work this week, my boss has gotten me into the The Puppini Sisters

If you like music from the 1920′s circa USO shows (think the oogie woogie bugle boy of company B), then have a listen.

My new music story is of Justin Beiber.

Taken from Gather.com:

At age fifteen Justin Bieber (sounds like beaver) is turning into a hip/hop and pop sensation. He was discovered on YouTube by Scooter Braun–Bieber’s current manager–who took him to meet and consult with Usher in Atlanta, GA, where he signed a record deal with Island Records.

Justin Bieber is from Stratford, Ontario where he learned how to sing, play the drums, piano, guitar, and trumpet.  His mother started posting Justin’s songs on YouTube for her friends and family–never thinking that he would wind up a tween heartthrob and a friend of Usher’s.  Before Justin’s world turned upside-down he was performing covers of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Chris Brown–who after seeing Justin’s YouTube video of his “With You” personally called him to congratulate him.

Justin is working on his soon-to-be released album My World which holds his hit single, “One Time.”

Justin performed live on The Today Show in front of hundreds of screaming tween girls.  He has the innocence of Miley Cyrus, the looks of Zac Efron, and the “crush appeal” of Justin Timberlake (although Justin Timberlake has sex appeal at his age, Justin Bieber only has crush appeal :) ).  The second single after “One Time” is called “One Less Lonely Girl” which is a sweet song–all of Justin’s song have a sweetness to a hip/hop beat.

The next Madonna: Lady Gaga?
I googled this question to get a general feel from the online community about this. I personally think that she is. Did anyone see her VMA performance? In case you missed it, check out below:

Thoughts on Lady Gaga being the next Madonna:
“it is highly unlikely.. i like lady gaga’s songs, i think they are great to dance to.. but madonna is the mother of creation, she has reinvented herself so many times and has been able to succeed through decades of hits..if lady gaga can do that well she has a chance but in my opinion she won’t be here for the long haul ;o”

“No, she isn’t. Madonna, just like everyone else who came along in her era brought new material to the world. Just like Nirvana did, for example. There was nothing else like Nirvana out at the time when they launched themselves, therefore scoring the mass attention of societies youth. Madonna released her debut material when there wasn’t anything like it at the time either. Just like the Stones, etc. Lady Gaga will not last more than a few years because there is so much other stuff like hers (for example Katy Perry, Lilly Allen) that she does not have individual talent or stardom to take her all the way to ‘classic pop’. Most pop artists today will not last very long, just like the pop stars of a few years ago, today.”

“maybe..but lets hope she is not as annoying as madonna”
The Village Voice has a small blurb about this on their blog:
“Remember when Madonna joined the Britney bandwagon, championing her greatness and even duetting with the new star to signal the fact that she might become the new Madonna, so it was best to quickly embellish her with the old Madonna?

But now, it turns out that Lady Gaga is way more Madonna-like than Britney ever was. The girl is much more of a player in her own image-making and seems like the visually avant-garde chameleon type that Britney, who simply synchs and swivels as she’s told, is not overly interested in being. And naturally, Madonna has already put her stamp of approval on Gaga, going to her concert with the boy toy and the daughter, whose ipod she clearly raided to find out about this new phenomenon of artsy commercialism.

Madonna’s no dummy–and if Gaga turns out to be just a two-hit wonder, Madge will simply move on to the next emerging diva. But in the meantime, I give it a matter of minutes until we hear about a Madonna/Gaga duet. I’m not bluffin’ with my muffin!”

I can’t believe I’ve had music up this long and I haven’t gushed yet about my favorite band of all time.

Dun, dun dun. Speechwriters LLC.

Don’t watch it to just watch a video. listen to the lyrics. I can’t really explain why I love them so much. I feel like they are the only band in the world who describes how I am feeling. It makes me think of past loves and past losses. Ah, gawsh I get so into it whenever they are playing. If you don’t like them I might judge you. I’m sorry. I’m just being honest.

Ever hear the classic Tom Petty Free Fallin’? Like rap? If so you are going to totally digg this newish song from Chamillionaire.

I apologize in advance as to the corniness of this video. It is super corny. But the actual song is really good.
I wanna show all of my haters love, so I sing to you like Good Morning, haterz. (yes I did just use a z)
Byez

This song is really cute. I like the main singers voice a lot and I think there is a lot to be said about something with a simple meaning. It’s titled Something Beautiful by Needtobreathe. Luckily thanks to my trusty IPhone, I used the Shazam application and got the song while driving in the car the other day. Since then I have been playing it non-stop thus deeming it worthy of being in the Mi-tunes section.

Hey now, this is my desire
Consume me like a fire, ’cause I just want something beautiful
To touch me, I know that I’m in reach
‘Cause I am down on my knees, I’m waiting for something beautiful
Oh, something beautiful
